on the bloom open studio

A  few weeks back I had the pleasure of attending the Bloom Open Studio with my dear friend and mentor Jennifer Haf. She's the boss lady behind Bloom Floral Design and her workshops & programs are incredible. She is also the mastermind behind the Open Book Flower School where I am currently a student. Bonus: in addition to being a talented floral designer she is a true magnetic light in this world & loves Paris & wine as much as I do. :)

There is nothing quite like creating in a space that is filled to the brim with talented, passionate & wildly creative women. The day started with coffee and conversation while we 'oozed and ahhed' over Jennifer's floral order. The best part about this workshop wasn't the stunning blooms or french cafe music piped through a beautifully renovated farmhouse- instead it was the ability to create freely and without any rules.

Right now the only time I get to play with flowers is when I'm at events like this. Jennifer has realized that we all to often become obsessed with meeting our clients needs and filling orders instead of remembering why we got into this in the first place.

So when someone tells you 'just go for it' and sets you loose on bucket after bucket of color and shapes it is hard not to find yourself in a state of Nirvana.

I'll leave you with a few photos, snapped by a talented friend of mine, Megan Newman who found the perfect moments to capture.

A thank you to all the lovely ladies who shared their talents and inspirations with me that day! Cannot wait to do it again.
